Duncan and I got out for some fall fishing on Rock Creek. Weather cooperated, we got some fish, fun time.
Beautiful afternoon. I started with a dry/dropper set up but, quickly switched some bacon and egg (San Juan worm and an egg pattern). Duncan got into fish early and often. Nice ones at that.
We kept working our way downstream. I had a fish take my worm but it managed to spit the hook. Duncan headed downstream and I tried a different little riffle upstream. Success!
I went back downstream and caught up with Duncan and things blew up for him. Apparently, he had the magic egg as he pulled fish after fish out of one section.
The sun was starting to drop below the mountains so we started making our way back upstream to the truck. We both pulled out a whitefish, Duncan snagged another trout and I had one on the line that spit the hook.
If this weather holds out I know what I’ll be doing later in the week…
